Launder as soon as possible. Vacuum and then blot with a cloth moistened with rubbing alcohol. Using absorbent pads remove as much moisture as possible. We have lived in our house for 3 months now.

Fat based stains butter margarine gravy etc. I was being lame last night and i spilled a 12 oz robitusin syrup formula on the carpet since i was in a hurry i letf it un atended until today i have been trying to get rid of the stain on the carpet but i havent been able to remove it completly. Sprinkle the stain with baking soda and let it sit for six hours. Mix one tablespoon of liquid hand dishwashing detergent and one tablespoon of white vinegar with two cups of warm water.

Allow the area to thoroughly air dry. The house is about 25 years old so it has some wear and tear that goes along with the age. Keep covered for 30 minutes. A bleach spill on a carpet whether it be large or small leaves behind a telltale mark.

You can also use a dry solvent spot carpet cleaner following the label instructions. Use baking soda as a carpet cleaner for fatty stains. Instead it strips the dye out of the carpet fibers leaving a mark.
