I used to be pure out of the sand with that club but have switched to more classic sand wedges to get the improved play from the fairway and for chipping but my sand game has really suffered. 5 iron is standard length black dot. Standard shaft options include ping jz series steel and ping 350 series graphite with additional shafts available through the ping wrx program. Can anyone get me the specs on the eye 2 sandwedge. In other words a pitching wedge has a loft that is similar to that of an older 9 iron. In the last 20 years club manufacturers have strengthened the irons by decreasing loft and thereby creating more distance with each club.
